BLOGS GALORE

I can't say enough how thrilled I always am when I run across quality blogs, much like when I see a piece of beautifully-made furniture. Yes, there are so many blogs around on the internet, and even the number of design-related blogs alone is mind-boggling. Technorati claims that there are some 60 million blogs today (and mind you, the figure is still growing at an amazing rate), which definitely doesn't come in as a big surprise to me. Finding the really good ones from this mix is the tough deal. For this reason, I've decided to pay homage to some of the great design blogs that I unearthed recently...

To start off, Design To Inspire is certainly my 'blog of the moment'. Apparently this blog was started so that the bloggers can share their favourite inspirational design photos with readers, who can also contribute links to beautiful spaces and interiors they found. That probably explains for the large quantity of high quality photos on show? In any case, with gorgeous pictures of Phillipe Starck-designed interiors on one end and more down-to-earth dwellings on the other, Design To Inspire makes sure you will not be disappointed. In fact, if you're planning to rejuvenate or renovate your house, stop by and get inspired. Great ideas await!

Moroccan-style design may not be that big in Singapore, but that does not mean there's a lack of following here. I, for one, like it a lot. And I once read that a client actually sent local architect Mink Tan on a trip to Morocco before starting on the design of his house, which the former wants to be built and decorated exactly like the dwellings over there. Do you call that a huge fan? You bet. If you happen to dig Moroccan design just like me, there's no better way to learn about Moroccan design than to hear it from someone living in Morroco herself on My Marrakesh. Blogger Maryam regularly muses about design trends and life in Marrakesh, also known as the 'Al Hamra'. Although the site started out as a home decorating blog, it has become much more. It's more like the personal yet 'bemused' tale of an American family with two children who decided to make the 'Red City' their home. Written in a witty manner, this tale is set to hold your attention.

Not willing to read chunky blocks of text online? Then a visual fest awaits you at Print and Pattern, a blog penned by a designer/ trend forecaster with a passion for patterns. This site is for anyone highly interested in graphics and who, erh, just want to oogle. I really love today's posting on award-winning artist Campbell Laird's new bold and beautiful graphic artworks, and can't wait to see what's coming up on the blog in the near future. So, do yourself a favour and check it out too.

Kitchen Cabinet Refacing said...

Kitchen cabinets are something you use every day, yet you probably never take the time to appreciate them. They seem simple enough, but there is actually more than plenty involved behind the scenes. There are many things to consider regarding kitchen cabinet refacing, cabinets materials, finishes, door designs, and even information on hardware. http://kitchen-cabinet-refacing-design.blogspot.com
