I'm excited to present here more updates on Salone Internazionale del Mobile, which is starting next week.
The Armoire collection by British cabinetmaker and designer company Pinch (associate at Designers Block) caught my eyes instantly with its mid-century-plaster-relief-inspired design. The range consists of three designs, called Alba (my favourite, as shown above), Marlow and Frey. Each cabinet comes in a range of configurations and internal storage options.
Droog remains the top design stable from Amsterdam which successfully put Dutch design on the world map in the early Nineties. As an award-winning collective representing avant-garde and creative concepts, we don't expect anything 'ordinary' from them. And they surely did not disappoint. Though I'm not a big fan of this Chair of Textures by Tjep, I believe it will make (many) heads turn at the show...

Toobe is the first free standing lamp for Kartell. Designed by Ferruccio Laviani, it arose from the idea to use an extruded PMMA pipe that could be used as a table lamp or a standing lamp depending on the length. Thanks to the inventive color technology Tobee is the first product from Kartell that is "smoked", this gives the light inside the cylinder a special glow. The handle that is cut out of the lamp makes the lamp functional and easy to move.

Divano Volant by Patricia Urquiola (for Moroso) is certainly one unique piece of furniture. With its totally unbelievable, unconventional and unrestrained form, this is something we'll expect to see in sci-fi movies rather than at furniture shows.

That wraps up this post. I'll leave you with more preview of the furniture show from Dezeen.
