HOME REJUVENATED!

Azure seas. Silky white sands. A marina at the doorstep. Nature in all her resplendent glory. A sanctuary one ought to call home.

Or maybe not quite yet...

We were recently commissioned to re-style an apartment at The Berth, located in the exclusive oceanfront residential community at Sentosa Cove. The client, who is renting the place, has just moved in with her family and a treasure trove of quality furniture and beautiful artifacts. Tasked by the client to 'do justice to the collection of furnishings and make the space more homely for as long as we are staying here over the next 2 years', we conceived a game plan to give the apartment a face lift in 3 days.

The original placement of the furniture and ornaments appears to be an after-thought, and the planning of things can truly be described as 'messy' as best. But what do you expect? Some of the 'decor advice' was provided courtesy of the house mover...

As such, the plan involves working out an effective layout to showcase each of the individual pieces, while looking into some new fittings and installations to liven up the interior. The rooms were also given a much-needed 'colour therapy'. Muted shades of taupe and beiges now dominate the rooms.

In a small apartment like this, the positioning and proportion of furniture are critical. But that doesn't mean all furniture has to be pushed against the walls. Moving pieces around the house (to where they are more fitting) could bring impressive results, as is the case here. Don't believe it? We have After pictures here - and a happy client - to show.
