What's your ultimate lunch date? Sorry, I'm not talking about Depp or Jolie here. I - or rather Wallpaper* magazine - am talking about a dream meal with the movers and shakers of the design industry. And these folks could well be dead or alive.
Wallpaper* magazine recently commissioned a survey among 4000 readers - many of whom work in the creative industries - to find out who in the design world they most wanted to hitch a lunch date with. The list of 30 at the table (click on image to see who) are all top names in the design world, so I'd expect the conversations over the table to be nothing short of enlightening. I already see several individuals I'd love to have a light-hearted banter with.
To Philippe Starck: You recently mentioned everything you've ever designed is 'unnecessary' and that 'design is dead'. But many are upset about those things you said. Some say it's more like design is dead in you. What do you have to say?
To Steve Jobs: You're my hero. Ever since you returned to helm Apple, even its lousiest products sell like hotcakes, ha!
To Banksy: I'm still amazed at how you managed to smuggle your work into well-guarded museums without anyone knowing. Frankly, when's your next date with the museums?
Find out more about the survey in the latest issue of Wallpaper*, which goes on sale this Thursday (ah no, this is not a sponsored message!).
