STAIRS AS STORAGE

Nobody would ever complain about having too much storage space. We interior designers are constantly looking for nooks and niches to carve out that extra storage space in the home. The staircase then becomes one of our dear friends: the space under a staircase can be great for storage without appearing conspicuous. In the case of this renovation project in San Candido, Italy, Holger Kehne and Eva Castro of London's Plasma Studio got their way and incorporated pull-out drawers into individual risers to very slick results.
