In this project, we seek to create a simple and sleek gallery space which adheres firmly to its dominantly minimalistic design and blends in beautifully with colourful decorative elements and art pieces, some of which are created by the male owner's mother. Upon entering the home, one is immediately welcomed by objects amassed by the owners over the past years. A walkway corridor leading into the bedrooms - originally meant as an open work space - has even been designated as a mini gallery space to showcase these works.

The original conventional layout in the living room has also been turned around - the once dining area now becomes the TV area, with the good viewing distance from the TV screen than before. Massive works were also avoided by simply extending the wall here and hanging the TV. In the new dining room, wallpaper decorated the once empty walls and adds a focal point.

Personalisation is certainly not short on the design of this home.  The kitchen and bathrooms were designed with a nod to the female owner's Peranakan heritage. On learning about the owners' cooking habits, a door and wall separating the kitchen and back yard has been removed, opening up the entire area into one bigger space. The finishes were kept glossy for easy cleaning, with a wood element introduced to break up the monotony of the whites. The style is decidedly 70's vintage yet contemporary at the same time.
